Are you an experienced and inspirational strategic leader with a background in Organisational Development and Talent?
Are you looking for your next opportunity to develop your career and make a difference?
Leicester City Council is one of the largest Unitary Authorities in England. We are a fast-paced and highly dynamic Mayoral Authority with a workforce of approximately 6000 staff focused on delivering the best outcomes for the residents of Leicester.
We need people who are driven and ready to deliver the very best for our communities. Public service is more important than ever, and this role represents a real opportunity to make a difference to our communities by transforming the way we work and placing our residents at the heart of everything we do.
What you’ll be doing
We are looking for a Head of Organisational Development and Talent to lead an established team covering Organisational Development, Resourcing and Management Information. You will be the lead on delivering a whole lifecycle approach to organisational development and talent management, ensuring we have the skills for now and the future and a workforce representative of the communities that we serve.
Do you have the credibility, confidence, and skills to drive culture change and deliver a high-performing workforce which role models our values whilst demonstrating a people-centric approach?
What you’ll need
Along with your extensive experience of organisational development, at a senior level, in a large, complex organisation. You will be creative with a fresh thinking approach and the ability to challenge and innovate. The ideal candidate will be a strong and strategic inspirational leader. An exceptional collaborator and someone capable of bringing together, inspiring and enabling diverse teams and partners to deliver.
You will be resilient; comfortable with scrutiny, change, complexity, and uncertainty and will be able to navigate and manage different stakeholder needs and multiple demands in a fast-paced environment. Having experience of leading major cultural change programmes and initiatives including using management information insight/intelligence to improve organisational performance or to make evidence-based recommendations.
Ultimately, you will demonstrate a commitment and enthusiasm to making a difference for residents, you will role model our values and will be an ambassador for the Council.
What we can offer you
As well as the satisfaction of helping to improve thousands of lives across Leicester, you can look forward to a work environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance. You’ll enjoy generous annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and flexible working. We’ll also give you the chance to develop your skills and expertise with a variety of learning and development opportunities. In addition, you can choose from a number of flexible benefits, including childcare vouchers, discounts on city buses and trains and help with relocation to Leicester, where appropriate.
