Leeds West Groups is a growing organization in the automotive repair retail market that owns over 100 Midas and Big O Tire stores around the country. We are looking for a dynamic accounting professional to lead our Revenue, A/R and Bank reconciliation team.

Job Description

This position will be leading and directing a team of accountants that are responsible for booking the companies revenues and reconciling all our banks. It also will oversee the Accounts Receivable function. This position is responsible for the more complex activities associated with, but not limited to, preparing monthly journal entries and analyses as required to accurately close the monthly fiscal period. It includes preparing monthly reconciliations for all assigned balance sheet accounts, including documentation to support all balances. Assist in the preparation of audit and tax package work papers at year end. Works on special projects as assigned. This position reports to the Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare accurate and timely month-end close account reconciliations (including cash, accounts receivable, and others assigned) and prepare corresponding adjusting journal entries for multiple companies.
• Assist with the proper recording and review of work performed by accounts receivable and treasury functions.
• Prepare and review monthly reconciliations for all assigned balance sheet accounts, including documentation to support all balances

• Ensure payroll and related expenses are properly recorded in the general ledger and accurately reconciled to supporting documentation.
• Ensure the appropriate and timely filing of sales taxes and other related issues.
• Periodically apply analytical procedures to identify potential errors in financial reporting.
• Review and maintain accounts receivable ensuring efforts are made to collect and questioning need for allowance adjustment or write-off.
• Maintain strictest confidentiality to ensure that privileged and / or proprietary information is adequately safeguarded against disclosure
• Improve and support the timeliness and accuracy of financial closing and reporting
• Seek opportunities for continuous improvements and streamline reporting and business processes

• Position will supervise up to 4 people – Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of practical experience in a financial/accounting role
• Experience with Sage 100 and/or Sage Intacct is a plus
• Experience with Microsoft BI is a plus
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Experience with managing direct reports is preferred
• Must be detail oriented, with ability to multi-task and problem solve
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated understanding of financial/accounting principles and systems
• Develop and implement financial management policies and procedures
• Knowledge of revenue recognition and intercompany transactions
• Ability to provide formal and informal training on financial concepts and systems to team members
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be a self-starter
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with vendors/customers and other Leeds West Groups employees
• Ability to function as a team player

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
