The French School of Maine is an independent day school in South Freeport, Maine – USA. The school is home to 80 students enrolled in EC3 (Petite Section) through Grade 5 (CM2). POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Grade 3-4-5 ~ CE2-CM1-CM2 Teacher, Primary Years Programme (IB PYP)

(this position commences August 31, 2023, to June 20, 2024)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The teacher is responsible for planning and implementing the curriculum of the French Ministry of Education (MENJS-AEFE-MLF) within the International Baccalaureate framework (IB PYP).
• The teacher creates an environment in which students can learn and develop optimally.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Three or more years of teaching experience.
• Experience living abroad or teaching abroad at the elementary level
• Experience in differentiating instruction and supporting students with learning challenges.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• French native speaker or C1 French Language Level
• Effective interpersonal skills with children and adults
• Highly collegial and collaborative team partner who is committed to collaborative planning and continuous professional growth
• Strong knowledge of children’s developmental and educational needs
• A record of encouraging, nurturing, and supporting students’ love of learning
• Is a lifelong learner with critical thinking, and communication skills
• Is a creative and independent thinker
