Job Description

Details:

• One-on-one(Grades K-12) virtual reading sessions utilizing the Corrective Reading or Reading Mastery program

• 1 hour reading intervention sessions

• 3-5 sessions per week, per student

• Structured reading program, individualized to each student

• Engaging individuals or small groups of students in the learning process

• Coaching utilizing appropriate strategy & technology

• Managing the pace, skills and sequence of reading lesson/ sessions.

• Tracking student progress and skill development through our reporting software.

• Evaluating and documenting student progress

• Developing rapport and establishing an engaging learning environment

• Maintaining a positive attitude and demonstrating enthusiasm

• Inspiring students to learn!

Required Skills:

• Ability to connect with people, specifically students, with a diverse range of skills, ages, and exceptionalities

• Capacity to follow the specific instructions of the Corrective Reading/Reading Mastery and deliver the program with fidelity

• Proficiency with a variety of virtual meeting platforms

• Proven ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students to learn

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Flexibility

• Strong problem solving and customer service skills

• Strong team player

Required Qualifications

• Post secondary education

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching/Tutoring(1 year)

• Social Work, Child Youth Worker, Educational Assistant

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Relevant diploma or certifications

• Relevant experience

Location:

• Virtual

Job Type:

• Part-time, Contract (with a maximum of 8 sessions per day)

Compensation:

• $40/hour

• Requirement to have working PC Laptop to conduct virtual tutoring

Part-time hours: 40 per week
