Summary of Position:
The Vice President for Education and Assessment is responsible for leading LSAC’s continued success in educational assessment. The Vice President for Education and Assessment manages the Education and Assessments boundary, which includes assessment science, assessment development and publication, online testing, and data processing. In addition to assuring the ongoing excellence of our current assessment products, this role is responsible for advancing innovation in learning and assessment and LSAC’s reputation for leadership in the field. This position reports to the Executive Vice President for Operations & Chief of Staff and is a member of the Vice President-level group.

Manage the Assessments boundary, including prioritization of work and initiatives in each area of the boundary
Collaborate with the Strategic Initiatives boundary at LSAC, guiding/advising on research about test preparation, learning, opportunity to learn, and law school trends
Lead a team of professionals dedicated to maintaining the LSAT as the premier test of critical thinking world wide
Lead a team of innovative assessment professionals in designing and developing assessments to ensure the academic success of students admitted to law school
Responsible for ensuring the validity, reliability, and fairness of the LSAT
Manage the activities of staff in the development of test items and the construction and evaluation of the LSAT
Consistently communicate and clarify organizational and boundary priorities; balance differing perspectives and bridge competing needs
Develop and manage budget across boundary priorities and units
Contribute to external relations and communications about the quality and value of the LSAT to various constituencies, including candidates, Pre-Law Advisor groups, and law schools; convene the Technical Advisory Committee
Responsible for the quality of all scores reported for LSAT or other testing programs and accountable for the production of LSAC correlation studies and related services
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Ensure that all admission tests produced by LSAC comply with the Standards of Educational and Pscyhological Testing (published by AERA, NCME, and APA)

Required Education and Experience:
Doctorate in education, psychology, philosophy, linguistics, educational measurement, or other discipline related to educational testing and research, or equivalent experience.
Five years of demonstrated experience in the management of a high-stakes admissions testing program or an educational testing program, or equivalent management experience.
Experience with, or exposure to, measurement techniques such as pretesting, test construction, and equating.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The person who holds this position will supervise (directly and indirectly) all staff in the Education and Assessments boundary.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a remote and professional office environment. Whether remote or in-office, this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full time position. The LSAC standard business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. ET. While these are the standard office hours for LSAC, as an exempt employee, the employee will be expected to work the hours necessary to satisfactorily complete their assignments in a responsible and professional manner.
