Account Executive

Position is based in the company’s headquarters in Pittsfield, MA.

Account Executive in charge of managing and presenting the Photonics Media product family (print, online, webinar, whitepapers, etc.) to the companies in an assigned territory. Partake in a consultative sell by being both knowledgeable of the Photonics Media products and customer needs. Within the assigned territory, maintain existing client base by offering outstanding customer service and sales support and keeping in close contact with key clients. Generate additional sales as well as new client and prospect relationships by presenting products to clients and prospects via phone, e-mail and face-to-face sales calls.

Essential Job Functions:

• High quality service and sales support for existing client base to assure high retention rates. High touch rate and custom marketing program for key clients. Handles each interaction with efficiency and care, so as to leave a positive and professional image of the company.
• Develop new business by researching territory, seeking out new clients, cold calling, qualifying prospects, determining needs, proposing appropriate print and online products and closing sales via phone and in person.
• Attendance at trade shows. Regular travel to meet with new and current clients.
• Keeps current on all print and online products, understands the value and benefits of each along with pricing, promotions and circulation.
• Timely and accurate proposal preparation, report updates, projections, contract preparation and maintenance of customer contact database system.

Other Job Functions:

• Monitor ad statistics for current clients to make sure they are getting adequate results and informing them when ads should be switched out.
• Always be aware of the competition, what they offer, their approximate pricing and all facts that demonstrate why we offer better value.
• Work closely with other team members and departments providing client/prospect feedback and gaining insight on processes that can assist in continuous improvement of product line and fulfillment processes.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Education and training concentrated in marketing and/or sales duties
• 2 – 3 years of successful work in a sales/service position; advertising/publishing/multi-media applications and business to business sales experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; Strong presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills; Self-motivated with a drive for success.
• Organized, able to multi-task, attentive to details and able to meet deadlines.
• Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Commitment to the company’s culture and quality service standards.
• Ability to effectively utilize all general office equipment, answer the telephone, take direction and professionally interact with clients, other employees, supervisors and senior management of the company.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time including by plane, to domestic and foreign locations.
