$33.49 an hour and 10.5% superannuation

The Role

We’re searching for an Accounts Officer to join our Financial Support Department. In this role you will provide support to the Accounting Team to process and administer accounts receivable and accounts payable in line with Council’s current procedures, whilst providing excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholder queries.

Duties include:

• To process and administer accounts receivable and accounts payable in line with current procedures.
• To provide resourcing and support to the Finance team with emphasis on assistance in the management of Council’s financial accounting functions and customer liaison.
• Processing: to raise accounts, maintain debtor records, process accounts for payment by ensuring orders have been raised, account allocations checked, and amounts confirmed and perform all relevant administrative duties in accordance with organisational requirements.
• Debt Collection: Support the organisation in the management of and follow up of outstanding payments, and arrangements made with debtors to pay accounts by instalments

You’ll need:

• Demonstrated experience in dealing with accounts receivable and accounts payable processes and liaising with a broad range of customers is critical.
• Experience in general bookkeeping/accounting functions.
• Demonstrated experience in working with computerised accounting software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to deal with a broad range of customers and employees.
• Ability to resolve customer enquiries or provide appropriate support and escalate concerns as required.
• Proven administrative skills and attention to detail, and capacity to follow tasks through to completion.
