LaPrairie Group Hiring for Developer (Visual Basic & C++) at Calgary, AB Full Time

LaPrairie Group of Companies is looking for an energetic Developer (Visual Basic & C++) to join the LaPrairie IT team in Downtown Calgary.
The Developer acts as the technical support for multi-departmental projects creating solutions that meet market needs relating to infrastructure, implementation, testing and maintenance. The Developer is responsible for designing fully functioning, debugged code with required documentation that meets development goals.
Salary commensurate with experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Produce code using .net languages such as C# and VB.
• Provide ongoing software support for current legacy applications.
• Train users on major software releases.
• Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment.
• Ensure the functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules and system architecture for each assignment.
• Increase current company custom applications security.
• Implement service capacity planning strategies.
• Provide recommendations for improvements in the overall development process and capacity planning strategies.

Requirement

• Experienced and knowledgeable programmer in .net languages such as C# and VB.
• Bachelor or Associate’s Degree in Computer Science (or an acceptable combination of education and relevant work experience).
• Familiarity with large-scale system design and front-end UI development experience using SQL, MS Access, and Visual Studio.
• Experience with MS Exchange, SQL databases, Active Directory, Teams and other common Microsoft stack technologies.
• This is an in-office role in downtown Calgary.
• Minimum 5 years of previous experience.
