Summary

We are looking for a confident, experienced, and personable individual to join our team as a Finance and HR Officer. Ideally you will be a good all rounder and be able to hit the ground running. We use Xero for our accounting and payroll so you must be familiar with that package.

Role Description

The Finance & HR Officer is responsible for the efficient operation of the day to day financial requirements of the school, and for providing a comprehensive HR service which ensures that managers and employees are equipped with best practice to foster a high performance culture.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day to day financial operations of company including

bookkeeping to trial balance, bank reconciliations, monthly payroll, credit control, and ensuring that records are accurate and kept up to date.

• Responsible for liaising with external agencies such as banks, HMRC, and the

company accountants.

• Provide financial information to the Principal as and when requested
• Responsible for maintaining the company HR system and ensuring that all

relevant employee documents are uploaded in a timely manner.

• Responsible for the recruitment process including writing job descriptions,

person specifications, advertising, selection and interview, and creation of

employment contracts.

• Conduct new starter inductions as well as reviews during and on completion

of probation periods.

• Assist with staff appraisals and help to implement any resulting changes or

arrange training for employees.

• Monitor and review HR policies and processes and implement

changes where necessary.

• To understand and adhere to the school safeguarding policies and safer

recruitment policy

Start date: As soon as possible to enable an effective handover

Hours of work: 20 per week but there will be a requirement to increase hours during busy periods.

Pay rate: £12-£14 per hour

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check as well as complete Safeguarding training. Two references are also required.
