What will you do?

You will assist engineers and scientists in developing new or updated electronics and electro-mechanical systems or components for genetic analysis instruments.

• You will set up electronic systems and devices, assemble and connect system components.
• You will troubleshoot, test, modify, repair, malfunctions in circuitry in existing electronic products, equipment, and controls.
• You will assist in electronic component layouts and create schematics for PCBAs.
• You will assist in general procurement of components and hardware for the engineering development team.

Education Requirements –

Highschool diploma – prefer candidate with degree or completed courses with certificate in electronics.

Experience Requirements –

at least five years of experience with electronic experience – micro-electronics / semi-conductor work

• Ability to understand electrical schematics / diagrams, mechanical drawings, as well as written instructions and specifications.
• Experienced in PCB rework. Capable of hand soldering surface mount components as small as 0201 with magnification. – THIS IS A MUST!
• Capable of crimping small connector terminals
• Experience in routing wiring in instruments and creating wire harnesses from scratch.
• Knowledge on how to use multimeter and oscilloscope to troubleshoot PCBAs.
• Experience with using MS Office software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal).
• The ability to work with team members across disciplines as well as good trouble-shooting skills, creative thinker and a positive attitude is a must.
• Willing to learn to use a business spend management (BSM) tool such as Coupa to procure electronic and mechanical hardware and manage payment.
