The Accounting Assistant supports the day-to-day functions of the accounting department by assisting with, bookkeeping, performing accounting transactions and preparing financial data analysis and reports. Experience is preferred but not required. You will work closely with Human Resources, Payroll, Accounting and Finance teams to gather and provide information on hours worked, associated costs, etc. The following is a small look into what the day to day looks like in this roll.

Hours: Monday – Friday 9-6pm

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for protecting the business by keeping information confidential and secure.

• Assists with accounting records, ledgers, reconciling statements and transactions

• Records entry, verifies documentation and distributes petty cash

• Prepares financial reports and various accounting statements

• Posts journal entries and proofs accounting reports for accuracy

• Allocates expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures

• Assists in the daily filing and organization of accounting paperwork

• Performing any additional tasks deemed necessary by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Sense of urgency

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• General knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting software

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
