The Junior Commodity Forecaster is responsible for monitoring and forecasting grower/contract product, Ultimately, this individual will continuously strive to meet, and supply customer demands by obtaining & planning for top-quality produce that ensures customer satisfaction. The person will obtain a market insight on pricing and production, follow historical trends and continuously generate reports based on analyzed data.

Main Duties

Responsible for supplying company’s targeted goals and forecast throughout the growing season.

Establish a clear understanding of quality specifications with each grower

Forecasting product lead times and blanket orders for commodities

Review sales orders and committed targeted goals to ensure inventory levels are substantial to meet demands.

Maintain continuous communication with growers, establish relationships, maintain fair disposition while continuously delivering the company’s guidelines.

Communicate with Procurement Manager so they can carry out their required tasks according to replenishing stock levels.

Complete daily reports.

Maintain and create reports.

Entering PO transfers and using FAMOUS software.

Communicate with growers their current fill rates and quality performance.

Communicate through the production scheduler to ensure accuracy of the product being packed based on the 2-day plan and daily requirements.

Other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

1 year experience with a Master’s Degree OR 1 – 3 years’ experience with a Bachelor’s Degree OR 3+ years’ relative experience

2+ years in related business

Preferred education in Business, Supply Chain, or Operations

Produce Experience an asset
