Lakes Academy: Principal Job Description

Lakes School is a Christian K4-2nd Grade private school that will begin its first year in the 2022-2023 school year. Located in Lakeland, Florida
(on the I4 corridor between Tampa and Orlando) in one of the fastest growing areas of the country.

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate would have a Masters Degree in School
Administration with a minimum of five years professional experience in classroom instruction as well as a minimum of three years experience as a principal or assistant principal. In addition, the successful candidate must be a mature born again Christian believer capable of modeling exemplary Christian Character and leadership befitting the principal of a Christian school. golakesacademy.com

The main duties and responsibilities of the position include but not limited to:

1. Provide academic and administrative leadership while managing the school

2. Implement the schools strategic plan and promote its visibility to the community.

3. Provide instructional excellence, staff supervision, and professional development.

4. Leverage effective communications with all constituents.
5. Encourage academic achievement.
6. Support the creation and maintenance of a godly and nurturing environment where God’s love is demonstrated and dignity and respect for each other is pursued.

7. Enforce discipline as defined by the schools code of conduct and standards of Christian ethics and behavior.

8. Pursue ACSI school accreditation.
9. Collaboration and cooperation with the administration and ministries of Lakes Church staff to meet the common goal of the church.

The Mission:

To provide a quality education with a Biblical world view in a safe and nurturing environment.

Governance:

Salary and Benefits:

Salary is based on education and demonstrated successful experience and ranges from $85,000 to $115,000.

Benefits would include:

10 sick days per year (accumulates up to 400 hours)
