POSITION: Post-Secondary Precision Agriculture Instructor/Program Director

LOCATION: Devils Lake, ND

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: This is a 12-month, tenure track position.

JOB SUMMARY: Lake Region State College (LRSC) is seeking a full-time instructor/program director for our Precision Agriculture Program. The successful candidate must be able to provide instruction and curriculum development in at least two of the following three areas: agronomy, ag finance, or precision agriculture through hardware and software applications. This position is responsible for providing textbook, hands on, and applicable labs in their area of expertise. Will assist students with precision ag and agronomic field experiments including data collection and processing. Will present at grower events and will proactively build and maintain industry partnerships.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in an agricultural discipline or related field and relevant work experience. The ability to navigate agricultural and other outdoor terrain and lift/carry 50 pounds as part of normal duties is required.

Preference will be given to the candidate who has right combination of education and experience to offer the students at Lake Region State College a hands on experience through its many resources, including a 40 acre field, working precision equipment, access to multiple software packages and hands on agronomy classes. The preferred candidate must demonstrate the necessary motivation to learn new technologies and implement those technologies into the classroom/field. The preferred candidate must be committed to build and maintain strong relationships with producers, campus members, and the agriculture community.
