The LAcarGUY family of dealerships has been a fixture in Southern California since “Sully” Sullivan opened his first dealership, Volkswagen Santa Monica, in 1964.
Having been an integral part of the iconic California surf culture of the 1960’s, the LAcarGUY family of dealerships has grown and transformed over the years. We now include 12 award-winning dealerships throughout the greater Los Angeles area which support world renowned brands such as Audi, Honda, Lexus, Porsche, Subaru, Toyota, and Volkswagen. In June 2021, we opened our 13th dealership with Genesis Santa Monica.

What Will I Be Doing?
- Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices
- Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
- Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
- Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos.
- Issues stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
- Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances; preparing checks.
- Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Maintains historical records by scanning and filing documents.
- Disburses petty cash by recording entry and verifying documentation.
- Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Pay supplier invoices when due. This may include payments made by ACH, Check, Petty Cash Wire Transfer
- Issue notices to suppliers regarding rejected invoice line items
- Process expense reports
- Issue stop payments and void checks
- Issue reminders to suppliers regarding uncashed checks
- Monitor supplier W-9 form submissions
- Issue positive pay data to the bank
- Reconcile accounts payable to the general ledger
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Individual should possess:
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- Technical competency in the use of computers and associated applications, including Microsoft Office with a high level of proficiency using Microsoft Excel
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices, purchase orders, operating instructions, procedure manuals and other related documents
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak and effectively present appropriate information
- Ability to apply the concepts of basic algebra and bookkeeping concepts
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Experience with office operations, data entry and file management would be ideal, but not required.
