LAC Early Childhood Center is a place where children actively explore, discover, and learn. Our goal is to provide children with a safe, warm environment that supports their growth as young learners. Our mission is to provide childcare and education designed and tailored to the specific needs of all young children, including those who experience delays in learning and need extra help to catch up to their peers. We believe that since a child’s earliest years are the most significant in brain development, this should be a time filled with stimuli and novel experiences that drive their creative, cognitive, socio-emotional, and physical growth and development.

LAC Early Childhood Center is looking for an experienced, resilient, and enthusiastic individual to lead our preschool program. As Preschool Director, you will be responsible for creating the framework of age-appropriate activities, developmental learning objectives. It is expected of you to engage families in their children’s development by sharing observations, reporting progress, and offering suggestions.

Education Director qualifications

• NYS Teaching Certification in Birth – 2nd Grade
• At least 2 years management / leadership experience
• Must provide immunization record and be fingerprinted by IdentoGo
• Must meet state educational and licensing requirements for director; additional center/school requirements may apply

• Must be a team player and willing to help out wherever needed

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Psychology, Nursing, Special Education, or a related field
• Ability to take initiative in work assignments and when organizing activities designed to improve social, motor, and cognitive skills
• Additional specialty in music, arts, and technology, sports, etc. a plus
• Ability to lead staff in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum

• Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Computer and technology literacy

• Working knowledge of Article 47 policies and regulations
• Build strong relationships with families and partners

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

COVID-19 considerations:
All teachers and staff are wearing masks, temperatures taken twice daily, daily sanitization and disinfection of public areas and toys, UV sanitizing light used in classrooms, social distancing in place, and all other requirements from DOH.
