Role Purpose / Mission:
Oversee and manage a team of 3 on daily accounting requirements including month-end reporting, general ledger maintenance, payroll, forecasting, fixed assets and budgeting. Monitor, analyse and produce financial and analytical reports. Coordinate regular statutory and global reporting requirements. Regularly review and enforce internal accounting policies. Inspire, lead and motivate team to follow best practice and provide value-added support to internal stakeholders.
Main Accountabilities:
Accounting
Maintain accurate financial records by way of regular general ledger reconciliations and following cost accounting policies in line with global and local accounting standards. Regular review and management of AR / AP, payroll, fixed assets, departmental reporting.
Processes
Review further development of internal accounting processes and workflows and implement improvements as required. Ensure KPI’s are monitored, implementing strategies when KPI’s are not met. Support internal stakeholders in reporting and budget control.
Budgets
Participate in annual budget setting and quarterly forecasting. Ensure department costs are monitored and work with Finance Director to redirect resources if required.
Team and Leadership
Manage daily workflow of the team and meet accounting timelines, projects and requirements. Build a high performing and efficient accounting team by coaching, motivating, mentoring and appraising.
Statutory Reporting
Coordinate and assist preparation of statutory requirements GST, tax, payroll tax, statutory reports.
Audit & Reporting
Coordinate, lead and provide support with external audit requests on annual basis. Assist with year-end closing & reporting.
Strategy
Participate in the development of the overall finance strategy including process improvement, systems, reporting and team development.
IT
Ensure all interfaces with SAP are running with no interference to daily business (EDI) and assist with SAP updates as necessary. Assist with all new system implementation projects.
Requirement:
University degree
CA or CPA Qualified
Minimum 5 – 7 years in previous Senior Accountant role
Must have previous team and leadership experience
SAP experience essential
