About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Test Engineering Supervisor, the Manufacturing Engineering Technician will be responsible to support team of 8 talented individuals. The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will be responsible for supporting, building and maintaining new and existing test equipment.

Your expertise in mechanical assembly, electrical cable builds, electrical rework, component level troubleshooting of functional test boxes along with your deep problem solving skills will be the key to your success in this role.

Primary Responsibilities

Build and assemble test boxes, WHA, circuit cards and electrical test fixtures to support production and vendors

Provides continuous “on the floor” and vendor site support and assists with Set-Ups, trouble shooting and repairing test equipment to ensure production needs are met.

Review and improve CCA test coverage based on system and thermal related test failures

Maintain test fixtures and improve test coverage on sustaining fixtures

Maintain & update design related test documentation

Assist in conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for test fixture issues that arise both internally and from vendors

Provide day-to-day support to CSG and worldwide service centers on test equipment issues

Verify and test new test equipment before roll out to CSG and worldwide service centers

Support quality practices (AS9100 and ISO9001)

Desired Education and Experiences

College Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience

Between 1 and 3 years of relevant and recent experience with:
Hands-on with soldering, hot air rework stations and crimping tools

To troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems

Understanding of IPC-WHMA-A-620 requirements & acceptance for Cable & WHA

Previous and proven experience in conducting root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions for production issues (both internally-driven as well as from outsourced assemblies)

Excellent verbal, written and oral communication and interpersonal skills

Creative and innovative

Labview programming would be an asset
