Our Client is a Fortune 100 and they are looking for a Business Analyst with expertise in Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Corporate Strategy. This is an Associate Level position based in Houston, Texas. Ideal candidate to have a mix of strong analytical skills, teamwork, and ability to synthesize decisions and deliver business performance results.

Responsibilities:
  • Experience with Profit & Loss (P&L) monthly, and conducting meetings with leadership team to communicate overall business financial results
  • Maintain Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboard, review quarterly trends, and propose actions to improve business performance
  • Analyze trends in sales volumes and revenues, by geographic region and product families, and recommend ideas for driving price, volume and profit margin growth
  • Compare sales performance versus plan, identify gaps, and alter plan, as needed
  • Review quarterly trends in costs – across raw material costs, fixed and variable production costs, SG&A costs, logistics costs – and recommend opportunities for optimization
  • Communicate with the supply chain, product management and manufacturing teams, to analyze production volumes and inventories, and recommend ideas to optimize production wheel and inventory turns
  • Prepare quarterly business financial performance report, with key takeaways, and present to senior management
  • Drive annual financial planning process, by coordinating across sales, marketing, product management, supply chain and manufacturing teams, to devise next year’s financial plan
  • Keep track of competitive price dynamics in the polymer markets globally, and recommend opportunities for taking advantage of market dynamics to grow top and bottom line
  • Assist on ad-hoc projects related to new market entry analysis, new product development analysis, pricing analysis, go-to-market strategies, capex projects, etc.

Skills:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Very strong analytical skills – in segmenting, drilling down, and summarizing-up data, to identify trends
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Results-oriented, with a sense of urgency and a passion for delivering business results
  • Strategic cross-functional thinking
  • Collaborative, with the ability to work across global multi-cultural teams
  • Wanting to constantly learn and drive improvements

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Engineering / MBA a plus
  • 4-5 years Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) or Strategy Consulting experience
  • Prior experience in chemicals / polymers / manufacturing industries
