We are leading a revolution in measurement of methane emissions for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and improvement of site safety and operations. Kuva Systems is commercializing a low-cost, automated camera for gas detection and emissions quantification. Leveraging our proprietary platform technology, our solution includes both the camera and a cloud solution to enable our customers to automatically receive emissions alerts and reports based on images of methane and VOC emissions. Overview

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing Engineering team and to help build out the next generation of our platform. The ideal candidate is a hands-on platform builder with significant experience in developing scalable IoT data management applications. They must have strong, firsthand technical expertise in a variety of software development tools and languages. They must be at ease working in an agile environment with minimal supervision. This person should embody a passion for continuous improvement, flexibility, taking initiative, and self-reflection. The technical lead position is a step on the career ladder to system architect.The position can be based anywhere in Canada and will be a part of the Calgary, AB team.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to designing and developing our data reviewing applications and internal management applications.

• Design, develop and test components and views

• Improve code and resolve software issues as they arise

• Manage planning and tasking, architectural discussions

• Collaborate with the software development team in a fast moving agile environment.

• Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing platforms.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware engineers, data scientists, business users, project managers and other software engineers to achieve elegant solutions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience working with web languages and technologies like: React, Node, Node server, Typescript, Oauth, JWT, GraphQL APIs etc.

• Experience working with building and deploying technologies like Docker, CircleCi, Git pipelines, Azure Devops etc.

• Experience with testing methodologies like unit testing, integration testing and automated testing frameworks.

• Allergic to bad design

We’re looking for someone with 2+ years of experience in software development, has a BS degree in computer science or similar, and is familiar with the following software/tools:

• Modern web programming languages and technologies, specifically Javascript, Typescript, and Python.

• React web-framework.

• Infrastructure automation technologies like Docker, Git pipelines, CircleCi, etc.

• Databases and data structures, like MongoDB, CosmoDBs, SQL, GraphQL,

• Testing methodologies, unit tests, and integration tests.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
