We are an early stage family startup company in the specialty food business with production in Mexico City and sales/distribution in Mexico and US (www.donchilio.com) . The candidate will join a high-energy, fast-paced, fun group who have taken on the challenge of simultaneously building an exceptional specialty food company with unique products in 2 countries. This job is considered a US position, but bilingual candidates will have an advantage. This is our first part-time or full-time hire. We expect to begin as a part-time position and then grow into a full-time position depending on performance, mutual compatibility and needs of the company.
Therefore, we seek to find someone who is adaptable to our company’s needs and can help us with a broad range of duties: including monthly financials, monthly sales reports, and basic cost accounting. Expert Quickbooks Online and expert Excel spreadsheet knowledge and experience is necessary. We also need this person to be willing to help with AP/AR and either oversee our out-sourced bookkeepers, or replace that service by doing it themselves.
We have listed this job as a controller because of the typical qualifications and duties needed for that job. However, we do not have a staff in the US to oversee. One of the future responsibilities might be to help us find talented people as our business grows. Therefore, the controller job qualifications include: solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills. Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) with at least seven years of relevant experience and either a bachelor’s or masters degree in accounting or finance. As we move forward with new investors, the candidate will assist in developing our presentations.
