Position Overview
Kratos Antenna Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Planner for our Whitby, Ontario location. Under the VP of Operations, the Planner is responsible for the development and execution of their schedule to ensure customer timelines are met. Working with the entire Operations team the planner will coordinate with cross functional teams daily to ensure production flow.

Essential Job Function

• Plan, prepare, issue and control schedules and coordinate with production to meet times.
• Advise management of the status of work in progress and any potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.
• Provide solutions to planned scheduling conflicts immediately.
• Provide alternative scheduling for conflicts that arise.
• Ensure scheduling deadlines are met.
• Work with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes with scheduling.
• Identify and implement planning system and process improvements.
• Understand, and develop the release and scheduling of work and materials utilizing the existing MRP system.
• Participate on Cross-Functional Teams to ensure ongoing improvements of process methodology.
• Process inventory adjustments according to procedures.
• Determine the focus of the project or program.
• Maintain a production schedule in collaboration with the Master Scheduler.

Job Requirements

• 3 Years’ experience in planning.
• Knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
• Knowledge of SAP processes applicable to planning and procurement.
• Detailed knowledge of current MS Office.
• Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
• Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanour.
• A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and government agencies.
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.

Work Conditions

• Work requires manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Heavy visual and mental concentration and periods of prolonged sitting are required.
• Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
• Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
• Overtime as required. Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
