KPMG Valuation Services is positioned within our Deals Tax and Legal (DTL) group and has extensive experience in providing valuation advice in relation to transactions, reorganisations, disputes, litigations, financial reporting, restructurings and funds.

The Tangible Asset Valuation Services (TAVS) team within Valuation Services provides robust valuations of plant, equipment and infrastructure assets for top tier clients across a broad range of industries (locally and globally) and government entities for multiple purposes including financial reporting, tax (and stamp duty), pre and post transaction and audit support.

Your Opportunity

Our Sydney office is looking for a candidate at the Senior Consultant (Executive) or Manager level to join this niche group. Working as a member of a close knit supportive team you will be involved in and learn to run end-to-end projects in relation to:

• Performing physical inspections of machinery, equipment and infrastructure as required
• Reviewing and building/adapting valuation models for plant, machinery and infrastructure assets
• Managing junior staff, as applicable
• Performing market research
• Preparing valuation reports outlining the analysis, key assumptions and valuation findings
• Analysing industries and financial information relevant to key valuations metrics and drivers
• Assist in business development efforts as assigned by the reporting manager
• Undertaking valuations for tax (including tax consolidation) and stamp duty purposes
• Providing valuations for accounting and reporting purposes (including valuations required under AASB such as Purchase Price Allocations) and advice on impairment related issues
• Assisting our audit practice as specialist advisors

To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills & experience could include:

• Prior equipment auctioneering, quantity surveying and/or valuation experience (two to five years)
• Degree in Engineering (double degree in Commerce/Accounting or exposure to related subjects will be highly regarded) or relevant field of study
• Solid analytical and communications skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment and/or independently
• Microsoft Office proficiency is required
• Your enthusiasm, curiosity, strong work ethic and commercial acumen will be highly regarded
• Highly developed report writing skills to compile sound, commercially-focused reports
• A client focused approach with the ability to build robust relationships at all levels, internally and externally
• The ability to manage and develop junior colleagues
• A desire to contribute to team success along with a motivated and dedicated work ethic
