Our KPMG business in Hobart works with Boards, Executive Management and Business Owners to help them in achieving their strategic, financial, and operational priorities.

We are currently looking to expand our team in Hobart and have roles available across a range of different service areas. Our Hobart teams works with clients across Tasmania and work with national teams on clients across Australia.

Business Services

• Relevant tertiary qualification and CA, CPA or working towards
• Suit 2 to 5 years’ experience working in tax and accounting roles in the SME / private business sector – senior advisor to assistant manager roles available
• Trusted and proactive business advisors
• Experience across a range of SME accounting platforms

Corporate Tax

• Relevant tertiary qualification and CA, CPA or Masters of Tax or working towards
• Approximately 5 year’s experience
• Experience with tax effect accounting, tax compliance and tax advisory
• Work across a diverse client base

Cyber and Technology Risk

• Senior consultant and manager roles available
• Relevant tertiary qualification (such as Computing, Engineering, Information Systems, IT or related)
• Understanding of Cyber Security maturity assessments against recognised global and domestic standards and regulations (e.g. ISO27001, NIST, ISM, PSPF, APRA CPS 234)

Corporate Finance / M&A / Transaction Services

• Relevant tertiary qualifications
• Senior advisor to manager roles available
• Experience in M&A, preparation of prospectus / information memorandums, financial due diligence, corporate finance, business valuations, capital markets or financial modelling
• People with external audit or business services backgrounds encouraged to apply

Data Analytics

• Relevant tertiary qualification
• 3 to 5 years experience with data analytics
• Azure knowledge and hands on experience and skills are preferred
• Strong cloud experience
• Good hands on experience with Data & Analytic Platforms

Employment Taxes / SMSF

• Relevant tertiary qualifications
• 2 to 5 years experience working with employment taxes (including super & SMSFs, income tax, FBT or employee share plans)
• Compliance and advisory role

ESG Advisory

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or advisory experience
• Senior consultant to director roles available
• Experience in performance, triple bottom line, impact, sustainability, circular economy or ESG roles
• Experience and/or understanding of the current and emerging ESG, Sustainability and Impact frameworks
• Experience in corporate reporting/IFRS advisory is desirable but not essential
• A passion for helping our clients navigate this complex and emerging area and achieve sustainable growth

ESG Assurance

• Relevant tertiary qualification and CA, CPA or working towards
• Senior consultant to director roles available
• Experience in internal or external audit
• Experience and / or understanding of the current and emerging ESG, Sustainability and Impact reporting and assurance frameworks

External Audit

• Senior accountant to Senior manager roles available
• Relevant tertiary qualifications including CA / CPA qualification
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with accounting and financial frameworks such as AASB and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

Financial Modelling

• Senior consultant and manager level with 2 to 6 years’ experience
• Experience in delivering best in class financial and non-financial modelling, strong commercial acumen and an ability to deliver timely and relevant insights
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
• CA or CPA qualification highly desirable as is familiarity with data visualisation tools (PowerBI)

Grant Writers

• Previous grants writing experience with excellent written communication skills and the ability to gather, and analyse, information from a range of sources and legislation
• Advanced MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Ability to prepare and present a compelling submission

Management Consulting / Commercial Advisory

• Senior consultant and manager level with 3 to 6 years’ experience
• Experience in business strategy, commercial advice, organisational design, operating models, or business processes and systems
• An ability to apply structured thinking and analysis techniques to complex and ambiguous problems

Project Management

• 3 to 6 years’ experience as a project manager
• Excellent communication and experience in engaging with internal and external stakeholders to execute the delivery of a range of projects and manage change
• Project management qualifications and certifications desirable

Risk Consulting

• Senior Consultant to Manager level roles available
• Recent experience in an internal audit or risk associated role, with a strong understanding of governance, risk and controls and an ability to think strategically
• A tertiary qualification, post-grad qualifications such as CIA/CPA/CA will be viewed favourably, but we will also consider people from other backgrounds such as engineering and information technology
• Strong ability to analyse information quickly using innovative solutions to solve complex problems
• Highly developed report writing, communication and presentation skills

R&D Tax Advisory

• Consultant to Manager level roles available
• Strong commercial acumen and project management skills
• A proven record in supporting high performing consulting teams
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal qualities
• Strong presentation skills and ability to present confidently
• Experience in Consulting, or an ability to demonstrate background in internal facing consulting services

Technology Advisory

• Relevant tertiary qualifications
• Senior consultant roles available
• Exposure or experience in technology, management consulting, business technology management, technology project management, or broader ICT projects
• An inquisitive mindset and critical way of thinking
