Full Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and logistics performance metrics
- Manage the leased car fleets for all divisions, including all rate negotiations
- Manage all rail carrier contracts and oversee rate negotiations
- Work with all Class I and shortline railroads to build strong relationships and improve overall service
- Collaborates with management on special projects and areas of concern for fleet optimization by fleet railcar data analysis, and historical data analysis
- Provide metric s for equipment utilization and maximization
- Analyze and approve railcar fleet repairs
- Participates in daily cross-departmental conference calls
- Develops and maintains business relationships with external colleagues and customers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
- 5-7 years of experience managing rail required; management experience preferred
- Negotiation and contract experience
- Experience managing railcar fleets, including leases
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
