We are currently working with a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Leeds who are looking to hire an Assistant Structural Engineer for their growing team. You’ll need a few years of experience to join this collaborative team working on a range of projects across numerous sectors.

The successful Assistant Structural Engineer will have the chance to impact projects in the residential, commercial, industrial, MOD, and other confidential builds. Some of their key clients are ITV and Channel 4 – creating/refurbishing their studio spaces. As a result, the role will stay fresh and exciting alongside providing the opportunity to get a broad range of experience.

At their current size of about 20 individuals, this consultancy has the capability of working on simple, small, and local projects all the way up to multi-million-pound ones across the UK.  Much of its work is also repeat business thanks to the great reputation they have built since its formation in 2001. The consultancy is also taking steps to lessen its impact on the environment, with aims of reducing the embodied carbon for projects they are involved in.

The team has several Chartered Engineers, both on the Civil and Structural side, which can aid you in the process of becoming Chartered. Additionally, there is also a dedicated ICE training mentor and all annual professional membership fees are covered. You’ll also be supported with any other training a development schemes which benefit your career.

Requirements/Responsibilities:

• High calibre of technical ability
• Carry out site visits and surveys
• Good communication skills, both written and oral – liaise with all stakeholders
• Deliver projects within budget whilst following quality control procedures
• Knowledge of various building structures using various materials – steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
• Experience using relevant design software – AutoCAD, Revit
• Awareness of British Standards/Eurocodes
• Self-motivated and capable of working well in a team
