Job Overview

We are looking for a passionate and talented junior/graduate accountant to join the KMC Underground Mining finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional to become an integral part of our success. You will have exposure to the many facets of the Komatsu Underground Mining finance organisation with opportunities to grow into more senior finance roles in the future.

The focus of the role will be to assist with the accurate and timely reporting of month end financial results to local leadership and to Komatsu Mining HQ in the USA and support the quarterly and annual statutory reporting requirements and tax and treasury activities as required.

This role provides a range of support functions to the Finance team and in particular the Financial Accounting / Tax / compliance area, this is expected to be a diverse & dynamic role

Key Job Responsibilities

Assist with the financial month end processes

Fixed Asset control and administration

Direct and indirect tax return schedules

Assist with lease accounting & Accounts Payable

Assist with Cash management and credit control

Assist with management & compliance with internal controls

Maintenance of process notes & flow charts for accounting systems

Provide input and assistance with system & process improvements

Assistance with the Annual Budget process

Completion of Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) surveys and other surveys as required

Qualifications/Requirements

2+ years experience in finance role preferred but not essential.

Familiarity with Microsoft Excel

Degree in Accounting desirable.

Have commenced or are seeking to complete formal professional accounting qualification (CPA/CA)

Good communication skills – written and verbal.

Strong analytical, critical thinking skills, and have a good eye for detail.

Organisational skills and capable of multi-tasking.

Proactive, takes initiative.

Outgoing, positive personality.
