Execute the development of product, assisting in the communication of all product needs to the Cross Functional Team (CFT – Sourcing and Materials Management). Helps drive the Customer To Concept (CTC) process for the brand/ category.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION OF PRODUCT

Timing & Action

• Owns production Timing and Action Calendar management

• Develops and manages flex/contingency needs and replenishment with cross functional partners

• Executes the seasonal calendar ensuring deadlines and milestones are consistently met.

Costing

• Accountable for achieving cost targets by category 

• Responsible for costs, cost options, strategic cost engineering  & cost roll ups for working session and buy meetings

Cross Functional Communication

• Drives CFT meeting w/ design & merchants for category of ownership, weekly communication of production issues & product needs

• Production expert to guide and assist the cross functional team (design, merchants) in developing products that exceed quality expectations

• Supports manager in agenda setting, presentation and follow up for all milestone meetings/working sessions

• Communicates timing and ensures accuracy of seasonal product plan.

• Responsible for style hand off with Technical Design

• Responsible for identifying quality issues & partnering with quality & testing teams to resolve

• Define packaging needs for category of ownership & work with product specialist & marketing team to execute.

Vendor Communication

• Assists in style, brand unit projections and confirms/finalizes new styles

• Communicates development details and product confirmation with vendors.

• Partners with production manager & sourcing team to build long range sourcing matrix & ensure the category sourcing strategy executes the business merchandising needs

• Assign vendors for development objectives in order to support total office sourcing strategy 

• Responsible for vendor communication pertaining to cost negotiations

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

• 2+ years of retail or product development experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

PREFERRED

• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong knowledge of fashion trends and forecasts, fabric/material and color
• Strong math aptitude and knowledge of retail math
