Partners with the Buyer in the development and execution of merchandise strategy, product assortment and vendor partnerships to deliver sales, gross margin and turnover goals.

*This job title is Associate Merchant/Assistant Merchandising Manager (can be used interchangeably internally)

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Merchandise Strategy Development

• Collaborates with Buyer to develop pre-season product life cycle dates and pricing strategy to drive inventory purchasing across channels

• Develops assortment strategies utilizing both store and digital insights

• Owns pricing strategy and execution, compliance and permanent markdowns

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Builds and develops strong vendor partnerships (internally and externally), communicates financial goals and performance to vendors           

• Liaison with Merchandise Visual Presentation team, In-Store Marketing team, Digital Merchandising, and Digital Planning and Execution teams to provide a clear and consistent message in store and online

• Partners with Buyer to execute marketing strategies

• Responsible for the execution of store and digital turn in paperwork, samples and review of all stages in the process

Analysis and Execution

• Executes merchandise strategy for department and or category responsibility

• Executes and manages in-season pricing utilizing advanced analytics of performance and competitive positioning (Strategic Pricing)

• Responsible for reviewing product execution (e.g. Floorplans, Website)

• Executes office floorplans and updates graphics/signs to drive customer engagement

• Analyzes Omni sales results and partners with vendor community to react to current business and identify trends for future strategies

Leadership and Coaching

• Responsible for monitoring execution of store experience initiatives (e.g. Backwall Graphics, Pricepoint Signs, Pricepoint Graphics, etc) and web experience initiatives (e.g. Navigation, search, promo code execution, web ids, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• 2-3 years in retail merchandising, planning, and/or allocation

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deliver on deadlines

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment

• Strong teamwork skills and interacts effectively with others across all levels

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Bachelor’s Degree
