Kohler Hiring for MRO Buyer at Casa Grande, AZ Full Time

We are growing! Kohler has begun construction on a new 1 million-square-foot manufacturing facility on 200 acres in the industrial corridor of Casa Grande, AZ. We are looking for passionate talent to join our growing team.

This role will be based at our Casa Grande facility once it is open. The role will be hybrid (some remote/some onsite) leading up to the opening but will work fully onsite when the facility is open. Some travel may be required during the construction and start-up phases of the facility for training.

Opportunity

We are looking for a Buyer to partner with our Operations and Maintenance teams to develop and take ownership of the strategic sourcing strategy for assigned spend categories and to improve price, quality, and delivery. In the Buyer role, you will be responsible for overall supplier performance with respect to cost, quality, delivery, service, and innovation. You will be an ideal candidate if you have a focus on continuously driving cost savings and have an excellent internal and external customer service mindset.

Specific Responsibilities

• Work with the Materials department and various suppliers to develop and maintain production and support inventory programs.
• Initiate cost reduction programs and work with suppliers, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Materials departments for successful implementation.
• Place purchase orders through our SAP ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) platform and perform follow-ups on those orders.
• Act as a support function for the assigned Corporate Buyer by performing the following:
  • Organize, prepare, assemble, and send out required bid packages.
  • Process shipping orders, correspondence, and change orders.
  • Review SRM/MRO (Maintenance Repair & Operations) requests in SAP to create purchase orders.
  • Review, edit, and revise legal contract terms and conditions prior to inclusion into purchase order.
  • Review and verify validity of invoice request for payments against project totals, payment terms, and already expended progress payments.
• Perform purchasing analyses and create purchasing documents in close coordination with inventory analyst.
• Expedite open orders on assigned commodities to meet required schedules.
• Provide recommendations for future sourcing strategies and supplier base consolidation to management.
• Collaborate with Corporate Buyers, Materials Manager, and/or Distribution to help manage and maintain supplier contracts, program administration, and metric ing.
• Obtain quotes and negotiate costs to obtain best pricing and service.
• Perform annual supplier audits, including pricing reviews and comparisons to alternate vendors.
• Work directly with Corporate Accounting to ensure vendors are properly set up and paid in accordance with their contracts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills/Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering program or a bachelor’s degree in a related field with successful completion of the CPM certification. Will consider relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree.
• A minimum of two years’ professional experience in Purchasing, Sourcing, or related field.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is highly desirable.
• An overall positive demeanor with the ability to graciously accept, embrace, and drive process improvement.
• A strong sense of pride in your work with a natural desire to lead-by-example and implement truly preventive action.
• A willingness to help with activities that may be outside of your job scope, especially as plant operations transition from the construction/set-up phase to the final “go-live” phase.

The salary range for this position is $61,500 – $77,450. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
