Opportunity

Under the direction of the business unit leader, the primary responsibility of our Engineering Manager, Kallista is to deliver innovative and luxurious consumer products as part of a highly collaborative cross-functional team.

The Engineering Manager, Kallista must combine strong coaching and technical skills along with creativity, entrepreneurship, and business acumen to develop products from initial concept through to production.

We are looking for someone who

• Possesses a mature individual product design process and enthusiastically coaches other less senior engineers on best practices.
• Contributes to and efficiently utilizes and builds a diverse and engineering organization.
• Leverages creative problem solving to design innovative, cost effective, and functional faucet products that delight customers and represent the Kallista brand.
• Brings a positive approach and collaborates with cross functional teams including industrial design, program management, marketing, and manufacturing operations to deliver products on time, within budget.
• Is passionate about innovation and consistently searches for opportunities to create and industrialize transformative products.
• Brings a mindset of entrepreneurship and excitement about the opportunities of working in the luxury goods sector.
• Utilizes a broad range of material and manufacturing process knowledge including casting, forging, stamping, injection molding, welding, tube bending, hydroforming, etc.

Specific Responsibilities

Lead

• Act as functional leader of engineering team within the business unit.
• Participate as part of the Kallista Leadership.
• Create strategic engineering direction for Kallista, partner closely with Supply Chain, Product Marketing Lead and Design.
• Execute innovative and luxurious product solutions to fulfill New Product Development vision.
• Coaches / guides others on proper decision-making processes.
• Translates business strategies into technical initiatives.
• Forecasts, resources and expertise needs required to meet the future department deliverables.
• As appropriate, attend engineering / manufacturing trade shows and seminars to investigate new materials, products, and processes to support business needs.

Create

• Provide high-level feasibility analysis on initial product concepts.
• Partner with Product Marketing and Industrial Design to develop a product specification using consumer research, market data, and sales feedback.
• Study competitive products and understand current warranty metrics to benchmark against new product designs.

Refine

• Develop and refine concepts using 3D modeling software (Creo), FEA, and CFD.
• Leverage our world class on-site prototyping and test lab capabilities to create physical prototypes to validate product features.
• Utilize tools such as DFMEA and engineering design critiques to identify and eliminate or mitigate high risk failure modes.
• Work with our internal manufacturing team as well as suppliers to balance cost, performance, quality, and project timing.

Implement

• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance stacks, and develop detailed technical drawings, incorporating engineering standards and GD&T.
• Optimize design using DfM (Design for Manufacturing) principles to ensure reliable, stable, and efficient mass production.
• Ensure regulatory compliance through careful product verification test planning.
• Support manufacturing ramp up by providing on-site feedback during pre-production builds.

Skills / Requirements

• Bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Minimum of 8 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of CAD modeling.
• Hands on fabrication and prototyping skills.
• International and domestic travel as needed.

The salary range for this position is $119,450 – $152,650. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
