Kogan People Solutions are working with a well-established, and well regarded Mortgage Broker industry participant with hundreds of affiliated clients. Enjoying continued business growth and growing profits, they now seek a qualified experienced Accountant to join them in their Richmond office.
About the role
Based in offices in Richmond Vic, as the newly appointed Accountant, you will become a core member of the team supporting the business operations. You will provide support on all financial management, reporting, cost management and auditing requirements.

Responsibilities will include

• General Ledger management and reporting, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the financial information maintained in the XERO based company accounting systems

• Supervision of staff assisting in accounts related activities who are responsible for bookkeeping and administrative duties such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, bank payments, payroll and others
• Preparing financial management reporting for internal stakeholders
• Involvement in the preparation of company financial budgets

Preparation of regular financial and management reporting, with a focus on accuracy and their compliance with statutory requirements

• Examining and reporting on operating costs, income and expenditure
• Variance analysis and associated analytical efforts
• Participate in review and upgrades of accounting systems and processes

About you

You have experience in the Accounting function within a similarly busy and complex business environment ideally gained in the Mortgage broker or more generally, finance intermediary sector industry

• You have a bachelor’s degree in accounting
• At least 3 years professional experience since you earned your qualifications
• CA or CPA or progress towards same
• A well organised working style – able to cheerfully meet demanding work requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication style
• Working rights – you can work fulltime in Australia without any restriction

• Possess strong knowledge of accounting systems, especially XERO or similar
• Are fully updated on applicable regulations and Australian accounting standards
• Possess excellent numerical and analytical capability.

• Are self-confident and a passion to continually improve skills and expertise.
• Have verifiable experience working well with others and have staff supervision skills
• Thrive in a close-knit team environment
• Have experience working in a busy and complex environment with many external stakeholders
• Are keen to learn and contribute where required to get the job done
