This role will be instrumental in executing our People & Culture team vision: To purposely create a habitat where all Koalas feel at home, valued, and can do meaningful work in and beyond the Treehouse. This role will be responsible to drive high-levels of engagement across the entire Koala team. This will include continuously optimising our internal communication, understanding and catering to what motivates our teams, enhancing our Koalas’ experience, as well as consistently celebrating their achievements. In addition, this role will purposefully and creatively continue to build our habitat – “the Treehouse,” making it a sought after workplace that promotes our values and helps bring out the best in our teams.

Requirements

What key responsibilities does this role have @ Koala?

• Culture: Support the P&C team to grow and build a genuinely awesome company and culture aligned with our values, mission and vision.
• Internal Communications: Develop and execute communication strategies to deliver organisational objectives, including corporate culture and business strategy. Create internal publications like newsletters, releases, email announcements, online content, videos, and special projects. Maintain effective internal communication systems and intranet platform to embed culture and values, influencing team behaviour. Working with our marketing team to align both internal and external brand initiatives/messaging.
• Employer Brand/Value Proposition: Evolve our talent attraction, as well as onboarding through to offboarding – employee lifecycle programs by continuously developing our internal and external unique brand voice.
• DE&I: Drive DEI strategies and programs for attracting, retaining, and promoting a diverse workforce. Advocate for DEI best practices, fostering a climate of respect and inclusion. Enhance employee capability in recognising and appreciating individual differences to support our business plans.

• Events & Engagement: Implement global company-wide events, socials and activations which engage and support Koala’s Culture, such as Lunch & Learns, Fireside chats, Town Halls, Annual parties etc’
• Partnerships: Develop internal and external networks to foster personal development, diversity, and inclusivity. This includes building relationships with external partners for volunteering, team events, and employer branding to enhance the employee experience and create opportunities for growth and collaboration.

• Reward & Recognition: Spearhead internal recognition initiatives and drive external recognition through prestigious awards, positioning the organisation as an industry leader and fostering a culture of appreciation.
• Oversee ad-hoc projects that further enhance the employee and customer/shareholder experience.

Ideal background…

• 2-3+ years experience in a People & Culture, Community Management, Events or similar role with hands on enthusiasm for driving team engagement initiatives
• Unique ability to visually bring ideas, concepts and content to life… are you a Canva Wiz? Slides Aficionado? Got the GIF(s) of the Gab? Aspiring content creator?
• Strategic – commercial in thinking and results driven
• Can demonstrate real business value through work – e.g. high employee satisfaction, productivity improvements, employer brand following etc.
• Tech savvy – proactively seeks out technology solutions to improve efficiencies across the workplace and teams’ day-to-day – experience with Canva, Google Slides, Site, and Suite, highly preferred. Additionally: Slack, Pyn, Kahoot, CultureAmp, ChatGPT, Adobe, Giphy, LinkedIn a bonus!
• Prior event management experience across all levels in an organisation as well as across small to large scale coordination
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, engagement and interpersonal skills
• High level organisational, attention to detail, and administrative skills
• Above all, your energy is contagious, you possess a high-level of EQ and you are a natural brand ambassador
