Job Brief

We seek an energetic Staff Accountant to join a young leadership team in a turnaround situation for a manufacturing company. You will perform & oversee financial activities as well as direct an assistant. You will ensure identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency & profitability. You will support cost saving initiatives and assist other functions. You will be involved in all accounting activities and have the opportunity to build your team.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost accounting and financial management
• Manage A/P & A/R, collections, cash flow analysis
• Set controls to mitigate risk and increase return on investments
• Standardize and maintain a system of accounting records and techniques
• Manage payroll & accruals
• Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Maintain the General Ledger
• Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors
• Perform reconciliations, liaise with financial institutions
• Inventory Control – Review and support monthly and ad hoc reporting of inventory
• Perform cost and production analyses
• Review/analysis of MRP, job costs, work order processing/posting, Bill of Material updates and Routings
• Ensure accounting software/systems are up to date & data protected

Requirements

• Previous experience in accounting management, cost accounting or other related fields
• Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
• Strong leadership qualities and professionalism in the workplace
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented, able to work under pressure
• MRP/ERP/Inventory experience
• Data analysis, Excel, BI, SQL experience
• Bachelor degree in Accounting, 3-5 years experience.
