Research and Development (R&D) conducts product and concept research and design services for new and existing products. Special Projects sits within R&D and works closely with Technical Support and Operations (New Product Integration (NPI)). Special Projects provides specialist engineering to rapid design projects.

This role is a key role within Special Projects.

Main duties of the position
To contribute to the design, development and test of electronic and mechanical equipment under direction of the Head of Special Projects. This includes general support to mechanical, electronic, RF, documentation and other engineering services.

This is a hands-on role.

Key Responsibilities

• Design from first principles and subsequent implementation of system solutions to prototype level. Prototypes need to be mature enough to hand over to Operations (New Product Integration (NPI)). Prototype maturity, includes but is not limited to, design documentation, manufacturing considerations, cost to manufacture, testing and build documentation.
• Development/modification of existing products and services based on new market requirements.
• Identifying Commercial of the Shelf (COTS) solutions and engagement with suppliers/partner organisations.
• Undertaking research activities under the direction of the Head of Special Projects.
• Have due regard for PV Grading, F680 and Export Licence Controls
• Working to Kirintec’s ISO9001 and ISO27001 standards
• Adhere to the national security framework in accordance with Security Requirements for List X Contractors.
• Any other reasonable duties required to support the company in meeting its objectives.

· Previous hands on hardware experience (mechanical and/or electronic)
