We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Software Project Engineer to join our team in Sydney. As a Software Project Engineer for Dematic, you will work closely with our subsidiary company DAI to deliver robust, well designed/configured/tested/commissioned software systems (Matflo/Warehouse Management System) for large scale automated warehousing and distribution centre projects.

Tasks and Qualifications:

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• Identifying market requirements, functional specifications, system specifications, design specifications, unit test specifications for the project/s

• Leading software integration, testing, documentation and configuration on site for assigned projects

• Participate in document, design and functionality reviews

• Work with Team Leaders and Project Managers to establish time schedules for projects and ensure these are met

• Actively contribute to the improvement of software development processes

• Provide technical expertise to Project Managers and more junior team members

• Provide software product expertise to our sales team to support the sales process as required

• Actively contribute to an environment that fosters technical excellence and team work

Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications, skills & experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering

• Experience in Object Oriented design and development (C, C++)
  

• Experience with relational databases

• Experience with MS Windows and Linux

• Experience in software specification, design, implementation and testing

• Extensive experience using a variety of software languages, design techniques and tools used in similar application domain

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Willingness and availability to travel interstate and overseas to work on projects (>30% of time)
