SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position is responsible for delivering a step change in maintenance and reliability in respect to asset performance while driving costs down to world class levels through continuous improvement; in partnership with the KCNA Reliability Team, Maintenance Team, Central Stores, and with the Operations & Engineering team at the manufacturing site. This position is responsible for leading maintenance and reliability throughout the site, setting the strategy, developing team and leader capabilities, managing the maintenance budget, and delivering continuous improvement in asset reliability. Position also ensures Maintenance and Reliability team are leveraging OPEX (operational excellence) continuous improvement process to drive improvements for department and site. Sets objectives for plant reliability and delivers results that have a significant impact on plant reliability and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide strategic leadership for maintenance skilled resources and reliability engineering groups for processes and operations at the mill

Drive costs down and deliver step change in asset performance through continuous improvement in partnership with the KCNA Reliability Team, Central Stores, and the Operations and Engineering team at the mill

Lead mill level reliability strategy development and execution through leadership of the transformation plan and its associated activities

Responsible for establishing leadership standards for maintenance and reliability personnel throughout the site by setting the strategy, developing team and leader capabilities, and managing the maintenance budget

Ensure maintenance and reliability teams are leveraging OPEX and continuous improvement processes to drive improvements for department and site

Set objectives for mill reliability and deliver results that have a significant impact on plant reliability and OEE performance

Determine and track investments in reliability technology, systems, and methods to ensure maximum ROI (Return On Investment)

Represent Huntsville Mill within sector and corporate technical communities, and all Global Reliability Network meetings and activities

Manage routine check and adjust process associated with budget, mill spending, and business demands, as well as participating in capital planning processes

Lead the maintenance organization and skills development to provide improved reliability performance and service

Responsible for delivering a 3% year on year decrease in spending by fostering a culture of loss prevention

Support the Stores Coordinator to ensure the stores team is continuously driving improvements in safety, quality, inventory level, delivery and cost reduction to best support our mill’s assets, as well as ensuring inventory accuracy

Work with staff Reliability and Global Supply Chain Reliability Team to achieve facility and sector/supply chain objectives by aligning your team and objectives to the Sector strategy and standards

FLEXIBILITY:

May require some travel

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Industrial environment (noise, dust, moving equipment)

May include prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting, along with occasional bending, reaching, lifting, climbing, twisting, stooping, etc.

Scheduled hours will vary based on the need to support a 24/7 operation

Travel up to 15% of time

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering or relevant scientific discipline and/or 5+ years of manufacturing related experience

Proven ability to organize and lead a multi-functional team

Significant experience in Maintenance, LEAN Manufacturing, and Operations

Exceptional written and oral communication skills

Exceptional understanding of broad business and organization, and can relate and connect the maintenance and reliability organization to it

Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Lean Six Stigma Certification (preferred)

Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) (SAP preferred)

Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), or Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) (preferred)
