Main Purpose of Role:

Due to internal movement, we are seeking a Financial Controls Analyst to join our local Finance team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting tax, statutory, corporate reporting (US & Local GAAP) and financial compliance requirements for the KCANZ Group of companies including filing of annual financial statements, corporate income taxes, GST compliance and FBT.

You will assist with local tax (ATO) assurance reviews, liaise with external auditors during statutory audits & coordinate with 3rd party service providers as required. Working closely with regional tax & accounting teams to ensure accurate reporting of financial results in accordance with both local & US GAAP.

Further Responsibilities Include:

• Support & co-ordinate with Global Business Services (GBS) & outsourced partners in the preparation & filing of corporate income tax returns, FBT & GST requirements for both Australia & New Zealand.

• Maintain transfer pricing documentation for both Australia & New Zealand and co-ordinate with GBS & outsourced partners in the preparation and reporting of Statutory Accounts consistent with local accounting standards & regulatory requirements including liaison with external auditors.

• Oversee and review Australia Bureau of Statistics (ABS) & Stats NZ returns prepared by GBS prior to submission.

• Coordinate & support financial compliance activities including annual stock count and fixed asset counts to ensure integrity of financial records.

• Ensure the integrity of monthly financial statements by completing detailed account reconciliations and review of accounting entries, to ensure the financial records accurately reflect the status of transactions and events.

• Support GBS Tax & Financial Reporting Teams on month end close, including tax accounting and technical queries from International Tax team.

• Partner with the business to provide a source of both tax & accounting expertise in the implementation of business projects

Knowledge/ Experience:

To be successful in this role, you will have professional qualifications in Accounting, and bring forward demonstrated experience (minimum 5 years) across similar capacity role with a focus on tax, local and US accounting standards, practices and procedures in accounting & compliance.

You will have a broad appreciation and understanding of local and US accounting standards, practices, and procedures with a key focus on tax accounting and compliance.

Bring in-depth knowledge and experience in tax assurance reviews for both direct & indirect tax including liaison with the Australian Taxation Office & 3rd party providers.

Have strong inter-personal and communication skills including presentation of financial statements to the board of directors & ability to communicate complex technical tax updates to the broader finance & business teams and the ability to work with SAP & CCH systems together with strong Excel skills.
