Kidd Operations A Glencore Company is Looking for Metallurgical Coop (18 Months) Full Time

Position Overview

Located in Timmins, Ontario, Kidd Operations consists of Mine and Concentrator sites focused on developing and sustaining economic mining plans for its ore body. The mine extends to a depth of 3.01 km (9,889 ft), making Kidd the world’s deepest base-metal mine.

Kidd Operations is now accepting resumes from students of Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering for a co-op placement beginning in Spring 2023. The student will be a part of the Kidd Concentrator’s Metallurgical Team.

The position offers an excellent opportunity to be exposed to all aspects of Cu/Zn ores processing including crushing, grinding, floatation, dewatering and tailings management. The student will assist the technical department in maintaining, troubleshooting and improving circuit operations. Through various assignments, the student will become familiar with plant equipment, sample preparation and analysis, safety initiatives & methodologies for risk reduction, as well as exposure to data systems and analysis.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

• Be enrolled in a Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering program at a recognized Canadian University
• Have a strong interest in mineral processing and who would thrive in a “hands on” working environment
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
