The role:

You will be required to effectively control, in liaison with the Manager Financial Strategy and Operations and Financial Accountant, Council’s financial portfolio in accordance with relevant legislation and Council’s adopted estimates and financial policies.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• A degree in Accounting or related field
• Previous experience as an Accountant
• Experience with software applications and database queries (e.g. Excel, MS Query, Word)
• Demonstrated understanding of and ability to work within Australian Accounting Standards
• Demonstrated understanding of taxation legislation impacting on Council’s financial management with the ability to advise Council accordingly
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to represent Council’s finance section in a range of forums
• Advanced analytical skills

About you:

You will have excellent attention to detail with an ability to initiate action, communicate effectively and write clear, informative reports. Capable of working autonomously, you will possess advanced computer skills and technical knowledge to make an active contribution to the organisation. A positive and demonstrated ‘can-do’ attitude and ability to engage and embrace change in a dynamic environment will be highly regarded.

We offer:

• Temporary full time, 35 hours per week up to 26 August 2022
• Salary from $1438.10 to $1534.60 (depending on qualifications, skills and experience)
• Plus 10% superannuation
• Access to the Fitness Passport

This role may be required to conduct remote work and applicants are required to have IT connectivity.
