Key Staffing is seeking a Logistics Freight Specialist in the Bakersfield, CA area.

Job Summary :

The Logistic Freight Specialist is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the transportation and delivery of goods. This includes managing shipments, negotiating with carriers, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing exceptional customer service.

The role demands meticulous planning, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities :

• Shipment Coordination : Arrange and schedule freight shipments by selecting appropriate carriers and routes.
• Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and transportation companies to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Monitor shipment status and provide updates to stakeholders.
• Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
• Evaluate carrier performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure reliable service.
• Documentation and Compliance :
• Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Inventory and Tracking :
• Track and manage inventory levels to ensure accurate records and prevent shortages or overages.
• Utilize logistics software to monitor and track shipments and inventory.
• Address and resolve customer inquiries and issues related to shipments and deliveries.
• Provide exceptional service to clients, ensuring their logistics needs are met promptly and efficiently.
• Analyze and optimize freight costs to enhance profitability.
• Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising service quality.
• Identify and resolve issues related to delays, damages, or discrepancies in shipments.
• Implement corrective actions to prevent the recurrence of problems.
• Generate s on freight activities, costs, and performance metrics.

Qualifications :

• Will be overseeing 15 drivers / 15 trucks.
• Needs to have 3-5 Years of Experience
• Plus, if the candidate has a CDL License
• Strong Leadership Skills
• Pay Rate Based on Experience
