Sandwich Intern (Spatial Analysis)
We have an exciting opportunity for a sandwich intern to develop the online mapping databases for the Kew and Wakehurst sites using the ESRI software suite. The position will be part of the Spatial Analysis team within the Ecosystem Stewardship priority. The post will directly input to two projects investigating carbon sequestration at the Kew and Wakehurst sites as well as the Landscape Ecology Programme at Wakehurst.

These projects will require the collation and organisation of numerous geospatial datasets covering both sites. Using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro the intern will assist in collation and management of geospatial datasets covering the Kew and Wakehurst sites, and assist in developing web and mobile data collection tools for Kew staff using Esri’s Survey123 and Field Maps apps.
There may be opportunities for the student to assist with the collection of data within the Kew sites working with teams using a range of devices, e.g., drone and LiDAR.
The student will work alongside researchers and horticulture staff working on projects concerning carbon sequestration, landscape conservation and geospatial data management.
The salary will be £16,744 per annum (plus £725 book allowance).
