Job Description:

We are Kent Metal Products Ltd. (www.kentmetalproducts.com), a Canadian metal fabrication and manufacturing company located in South Vancouver, BC, with 22 employees. We have been in business over 50 years and we are currently seeking an energetic Bookkeeper to join our team.

The successful candidate must possess a friendly, confident, professional manner; great organizational skills; attention to detail; strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; an ability to quickly and easily learn and enthusiasm to participate as a member of a team and contribute to a positive work environment.

Salary: We are offering a salary range of $24.00 to $28.00/hour, commensurate with education and experience.

Skills and Requirements:

• Sage 50 / Simply Accounting
• Proficient in Word Processing (MS Word)
• Intermediate level Spreadsheets (MS Excel)
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping, full cycle accounting and general accounting principles
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Good command of written and spoken English

Responsibilities: * GST/PST and Source deduction tax filings

• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Supplier cheque runs on a biweekly basis
• Time Entry and Payroll
• Bank, credit card and other GL reconciliations on a monthly and ad hoc basis
• Inputting sales contracts, purchase and sales orders, and administering quotes
• Inventory records management
• Manage employee changeover documentation and records
• Accurate allocation of expenditures to departments and jobs/projects
• Obtain materials quotes from suppliers via phone and email as requested
• Filing and data entry
• Welcoming customers both in person and on the phone and providing assistance, as required
• Maintaining excellent customer service

Required experience:

• Minimum 2 years bookkeeping experience in an office environment. Diploma or degree in accounting, or equivalent education, is considered an asset.
