Position Overview:
The Production Lead is a member of the Sourcing team who reports directly to the Production Manager. This is a salary, exempt position whose primary responsibilities are to build production timelines for assigned product categories and ensure alignment between internal cross functional teams and external vendors. This role focuses on driving speed to market through on time PO submissions and deliveries. Overall, they ensure the company can execute product launches, replenishment, & company initiatives on time.
Responsibilities:
Production Planning Management:
•Key production internal point of contact for all product in design & development
•Create a detailed production calendar for all assortments and reorders to ensure on time quality deliveries; ensure each business channel and type of distribution is accounted for while creating a calendar
•Partner with merchandising, development, planning, allocation, transportation, & distribution to determine feasibility of new launches and execute plans accordingly
•Ensure any MOQ or raw material limitations are fully vetted during product development, communicated with MPA, & accounted for in the production calendar.
•Ensure all POs are submitted on schedule after buy handoff from planning with the appropriate allocated vendors; receive final buy in from vendors based on final QTYs and submit all key details to Production Specialist for PO entry
•Collaborate with Sourcing Manager on any potential vendor shifts for RP assortments
•Collaborate with PD to ensure all new product POs are submitted based on vendor allocation and product approvals
•Maintain a log for all pending POs that are handed off from Planning but not yet submitted
•Responsible for creating, maintaining, and communicating all special packaging guidelines
Production Management:
•Ensure all POs are acknowledged by vendors within 48 hours of PO submission and confirmed within 1 week with PDF signed confirmations
•Monitor all purchase orders in production weekly to ensure deliveries stay on track and any problems are resolved quickly; manage up as needed to maintain all planned launch dates
•Ensure quality is not compromised while maintaining on time deliveries, and relay any potential roadblocks or quality issues to senior management
•Ensure final quality inspections are scheduled and logged for each PO
•Create and submit invoices for all 3rd party non-product vendors
Leadership & Collaboration:
•Build strong relationships & partnerships with vendors and agencies to promote the Kendra Scott family culture throughout the supply chain
•Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Design, Product Development, Planning, Sales, Finance, Merchandising, Logistics, Distribution, and intuitively know when to effectively engage teams to support department needs
•Manage up to Manager to keep leaders informed and elicit support as needed
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
•3-4 years’ experience in planning and/or production related role for a high-growth retail company
•A proven ability to break down larger initiatives into consumable achievable tasks to achieve departmental and company objectives
•Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to build cross functional partnerships & vendor relationships
•Experience working with global suppliers and agents
•Ability to clearly articulate plans and ensure team is aligned
•Extreme attention to detail
•A solutions-oriented mentality with a data driven approach
•Proficient in Excel and ERP systems; experience in QAD or a PLM is preferred
•Experience with data analysis & reporting
•Experience developing, implementing and communicating new processes and tools
•Broad knowledge of retail product development, technical design, planning, production, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, & distribution
