The Opportunity

Reporting to the Team Leader Finance, the Finance Officer will effectively undertake duties assigned and assist in meeting various targets and milestones as required.

To be successful in this position, you will possess Certificate IV in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Administration or related discipline, and/or demonstrated experience relevant to the role.

You will also have demonstrated experience performing bank reconciliations, accounts payable functions and general financial reconciliations; intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills; excellent verbal and written communication; excellent literacy and numeracy skills; and a customer service focus.

Key accountabilities include

• Undertaking Council’s bank reconciliation.
• Preparation of Council’s Business Activity Statement.
• Assist with Council’s accounts payable functions.
• Assist with Council’s corporate credit cards.
• Perform financial reconciliations.
• Prepare and process financial journals.
