JOB OVERVIEW

The Millwright position reports to the Facilities Manager and is responsible for constructing, assembling, repairing and dismantling machinery and equipment in an industrial setting while providing expedient customer service and satisfaction. This involves working on a wide variety of tasks which also includes general building maintenance and fabrication work, requiring a broad spectrum of skill sets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working on multiple projects and work requests. Millwright duties would include oil changes, belt changes, filter changes and greasing bearings to machines and equipment
• Reads work orders or receives instructions from supervisors in order to determine work requirements
• Accepts direction from the Fabrication & GSE Supervisor and create material requests for repair and maintenance activities
• Ability to run mechanical equipment to verify correct operation during maintenance activities and/or checking with an operator
• Using machine shop, welding, electrical, pneumatics and power transmission as required for maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Provides general facility repairs
• Organize and maintain tool inventory
• Follows all health and safety policies and procedures
• Strives to continually improve through specific development plans
• Works with various off-site contractors on jobs

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a ticketed Millwright with an Interprovincial Standard Endorsement (Red Seal).
• Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in an industrial/manufacturing maintenance environment. Aerospace industry experience considered an asset
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Welding (MIG/ Spool gun) and Fabrication experience
• Experience with CNC Machines will be considered an asset
• Experience working in dangerous or hazardous environments such as working on heights, using ladders, and working around equipment
• Ability to read drawings and blueprints and interpret specifications from manufactures manuals
• Capable of industrial-scale jobs
• Capable of working with potentially hazardous substances and application of associated measures
• Knowledge of safe work operating procedures
• Ability to understand and apply industry standards for installation, repairs, and safety
• Ability to operate power tools and equipment
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Willing to take initiative and apply trouble-shooting skills to identify and correct problems and recommend solutions
• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Attention to detail
• Self-motivated
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people tactfully. Be able to work independently and as part of a team
