Kelly Services Hiring for Tutor K-5 – Future Forward Job at Lawrenceville, GA Full Time

Our mission at Future Forward is to help young children develop the skills they need to become confident, successful, joyful readers by providing individualized tutoring combined with expansive family engagement. As a tutor for Future Forward, you are the key to this transformational change for young learners. You will meet with the same student roughly three times per week for nine weeks. Each tutoring session is 30 minutes (schedules may vary slightly across specific schools). You will report to a Program Manager who will support and observe you to ensure you have the training and materials needed to succeed.

You also will be joining a team of professionals who are dedicated to this mission and have an outstanding track record of impact. To fully support you in this role, Future Forward will provide you with over 30 hours of professional development on the science of reading and in-depth coaching and support for the students you are tutoring.

Students enrolled in Future Forward tutoring are six times more likely to reach their reading benchmarks than their peers and show nearly a 30% decrease in absenteeism. Joining Future Forward is joining a team that changes children’s lives for the better.

Contract – Temporary (ASAP-May 27)

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create individualized lesson plans, following the set program format, for all assigned students.
• Tutor assigned students three times per week for 30 minutes per session.
• Complete all reports and documentation as required.
• Help create, utilize, and maintain a print-rich literacy environment.
• Establish and maintain a rapport with school staff and parents.
• Assist with the maintenance of a detailed binder for each Future Forward participant to monitor reading progress and report on program impact.
• Provide written documentation of program implementation.
• Work with Future Forward staff to implement creative and engaging after-school literacy games/activities for program participants.
• Provide guidance and direction to Future Forward participants in the areas of academic success, healthy lifestyles, and civic and community engagement.
• Participate in programs, projects, and special events.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Experience directly related to children and youth programming.
• Enjoyment working with children in grades K-5.
• Ability to take direction.
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to relate effectively with diverse population.
• Basic computer literacy, including ability to learn and utilize new technologies and apply technology to communication, logistics and other key job tasks.
• Ability to develop relationships with and inspire and empower student participants.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Experience in early literacy instruction a plus.
