Kelly® Professional & Industrial has a Direct Hire Accounting Coordinator opportunity with at DC certified business enterprise that has been in business since 1941. This client is growing fast and looking for a dynamic Accounting Coordinator to join their team! This position will manage Accounts Payable and assist the Controller and others as needed. Your understanding of Accounting processes should be coupled with strong organizational skills and consistency.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist full cycle accounts payable; including processing of invoices, maintenance of accounts, payment processing, reconciliation of credit cards, and back-end electronic filing.
• Work closely with the Purchasing Manager to identify discrepancies between bills and purchase orders and resolve as needed.
• Support identifying suppliers, researching goods and services, processing purchase orders, and verifying delivered items.
• Maintaining electronic and paper records when needed, records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments.
• Scheduling and verifying puchase deliveries.
• Administrative support for the Controller including new procedure implementation and training programs.
• Interface with vendors regarding payment status and account reconciliation.
• Cross train in other areas of the Accounting Department and Company.
• Work closely with the executive team on standard operating procedures, updating existing procedures and drafting new ones.
• Responsible for scanning, filing, and organizing documents as required.
• Demonstrate an aptitude for multitasking and a desire to expand knowledge.
• Participate in periodic professional development training.
• Follow all Company regulations, policies, and work procedures.

Required qualifications and personal attributes:

• Experience in Accounting / Bookkeeping or a strong desire to learn.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Accountability, resilience, drive, confidence, and a positive attitude.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Have a strong work ethic and the ability to adapt to shifting responsibilities.
• A good team player.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in job cost accounting.
• Construction industry experience.
