POSITION SUMMARY

Directs & controls warehouse operations to ensure cost efficiency & complete administration of the distribution system. Under the direction of the Director of Distributions and Logistics, manages warehouse projects to ensure projects are implemented as planned and scheduled. Responsible for the development of strategic, operational, and tactical planning to improve overall organizational effectiveness and efficiency. Responsible for the development of objectives/goals and budgeting to support the company’s strategic plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Improve operating efficiency and effectiveness to allow the company to increase sales up to 30% annually.
• Support the strategies/initiatives to reduce slow-moving inventory, not to exceed % of inventory as per business objective.
• Plan, develop, organize, staff, direct and control supply chain management resources to allow the company to maximize market share for top-tier customers.
• Assist Director Distribution and Logistics in the selection process to hire the best possible job candidates to strengthen the department.
• Define the communication channels by establishing functional roles, policies, procedures, and responsibilities of departments and positions.
• Develop and train management and supervisors on principles and methods to establish a safe and continuous quality improvement work environment.
• Establish weekly, monthly meetings for all departments.
• Implement routine policies/procedures to eliminate waste and improve productivity.
• Develop and manage project scope, project schedules, resource plans, and budget requirements.
• Manage an application team to support system development, implementation, and maintenance activities.
• Assist in the design and implementation of the workplace reengineering project and the new methods and procedures.
• Complete status reports and communicates key issues to senior management.
• Serves on the company’s safety committee.
• Assist in the training, monitoring, and recognition of employees’ compliance with safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Comply with company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Manage any other distribution projects.

REQUIRED SKILLS OR EDUCATION

• MBA/BA/BS in Logistics/Transportation Management or equivalent work experience
• 5-10 years of previous distribution and logistics experience in either the wholesale or retail industry.
• Previous achievements in team building and leadership in a team-oriented work environment.
• Proven accomplishments in a continuous improvement work culture and cross-functional decision-making.
• Outstanding communication and analytical skills.
• Workable knowledge of the AS400 system or a comparable host computer platform.
• Years of experience with Microsoft Office software to include MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access.
• A college education is preferred.
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Experience in project management
• Familiar with Warehouse Management Systems
• Experience in the textile industry preferred
