Our Government Services division is seeking experienced Test Engineers and Technicians to assist in the development of IFF and data system solutions, and to support our customers to upgrade their IFF and data systems globally.

The successful candidate will have experience in the Defence environment with particular expertise in engineering design and test and evaluation within IFF, Link-16 or equivalent data systems across Air, Maritime and Land environments.

The position will be based in Canberra with a necessity to travel domestically and internationally. Candidates in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering/ technical support to the development of KBR IFF and data system solutions and testing capability;

• Development and maintenance of system documentation;

• Provide support to KBR Program and Test Managers and the ITEC Lead Engineer;

• Conduct design and development activities including Verification and Validation (V&V), Test and Evaluation (T&E) and Certification level testing;

• Produce test plans and procedure documentation; and

• Participate in formal engineering reviews.

Essential Qualifications / Requirements

Tertiary qualifications in any of the following areas:

• Communications/Radio systems

• Avionics

• Engineering (T&E, systems, software, mechanical, aeronautical, electrical)

• C4I

• Test and Evaluation

• Data analytics

• Experience with IFF, Link-16 or similar system platform test and evaluation activities;

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in Defence industry;

• Minimum 3 years’ engineering/technical experience in developing and supporting Military systems encompassing Aviation, Maritime and Land Based Weapons, Sensors and C3I Systems; and

• Ensuring compliance to governing and technical standards.

• Must be an Australian citizen

• Current Defence Security Clearance – NV1 (Secret) or the ability to obtain this clearance level; and

• Ability to access ITAR controlled information.

Desirable Qualifications / Experience

• Experience conducting T&E of complex military platforms in accordance with a defined standard

• Experience with primary and secondary radar systems

• Experience liaising with Engineering design authorities

• Knowledge of radar and radio theory

• Experience working with a customer whose first language is not English

• Fluency in a second language (any)
